Cisk 0.0 alcohol-free lager has been awarded a silver medal in the Low or No Alcohol Beers category of this year’s International Beer Challenge (IBC) held in the UK.
The IBC has rewarded and promoted excellent beers over the years. The whole rainbow of beer complexity enters the competition, with entries received from no fewer than 30 countries this year, including acknowledged brewing heartlands and representations from advancing beer countries.
Judges include some of the shrewdest beer judges in the land – retailers, importers, publicans, brewers, writers and flavour analysts. Judges study each beer in turn, considering the appearance, the aroma, the taste and the finish, before discussing their findings with other table members.
“Winning any award in the relatively new low or no alcohol category is no easy feat and a medal in this competition is an outstanding achievement, underlining our brewers’ commitment to quality and innovation,” said Mr Eugenio Caruana, Chief Operations Officer at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.
This is not the first award for Cisk 0.0. Just a few months after its launch in 2021, the beer was awarded a Gold medal in the Non & Low Alcohol Beer – Class 1 category at the International Brewing and Cider Awards 2021 held in the UK. Moreover, Cisk 0.0 was also named overall Trophy winner of the Gold winners of the three classes of the same category.

Cisk 0.0 is brewed using the same traditional and natural ingredients as Cisk. The beer is fermented and matured before all the alcohol is removed through a gentle process specifically designed to remove the alcohol from the beer whilst retaining the flavour resulting in those refreshing fruity notes and a soft malty finish that have become synonymous with the Cisk brand.
